What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture.

I can’t exactly remember what year it was when I heard the term Community Supported Agriculture but I do remember it was instant love. Community Supported Agriculture is when an individual or a family makes an investment into a local farm by buying a share. All farms are different but generally a couple of share options are offered, such as an individual share or a family share.

When you buy a share you are buying into that seasons harvest receiving weekly amounts of produce, dairy, meat and or other farm products throughout the season. One of the reasons why I love CSA’s is the farmer gets to make a direct link with their neighbors and community along with gaining financial sustainability for the season.

Living in an area that is blessed with a bounty of small family farms. I have had the opportunity to work and live on a few of these amazing farms getting a chance to understand farming from an apprentice point of view and all of the hard work, long hours and time that goes into getting the food from the fields to our tables. I have always felt that it is important for people to understand where there food comes from and a CSA gives them the opportunity to see beyond their grocery store or refrigerator.

What is an Herbal CSA?

Based on the same concept as a CSA for produce we will be offering a wide range of local organic herbal medicine preparations and herbal infused body products.

We are in the beginning stages of the CSA and for this year will be offering a Fall share and two Winter shares. Each share offered is a complete share and all can be purchased separately. The exact dates are not down yet but roughly the pick-ups will be in the end of Sept. mid Dec and mid to late Feb.

We are also offering mail order with the additional cost of shipping.

You will have a choice of a ½ share or a full share. You will be able to choose from a wide variety of medicinal preparations such as tinctures, teas, elixirs, syrups, flower essences, skin care, vinegars and herbal honeys.

How to Join

If you would like more information on the price of shares and order forms I can be emailed at
